I'm appalled. Quite frankly I'm also disgusted--with the Evangelicals of America who still practice religious prejudice, hatred, and phony demagoguery and all the prideful things the Savior told us to avoid.
I thought I understood it four years ago when one of their darlings, Mike Huckabee, was running against Mitt Romney for president. But this year we have two Mormon Republicans running for the nomination, Jon Huntsman, Jr. and Mitt Romney.
If I were member of a church other than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), would I take a look at each candidate's religious views--or lack thereof--and vote strictly on their faith? No, that is inane, plain stupid. I'm a Mormon, and at first I followed Romney closely and intended to vote for him. I'm not too sure anymore since I have been reading Ron Paul's book, Liberty Defined. It's a big--almost 500 pages--book that reviews Congressman Paul's views on 50 of the most pressing issues of the day.
While he isn't the most exciting public speaker in the world, his mind is beautiful. He is so well organized and ordered. He is a real patriot, a libertarian conservative. If you have to ask "what's that" then you need to buy his book. I plan to write a Cliff Notes on that book costing maybe five bucks. When it comes out I'll let you know. The hardbound cover price is #26.99 so my version at five bucks would be a steal.
When are Baptists and Evangelicals going to grow up? I mean when are they going to forget their petty
jealousies and put away their phony pride and start acting like Americans? If I were a Baptist I would bag the stupid party-line rhetoric and forget the past. Romney had nothing to do with any hurt you are feeling. It's like blaming the Japanese for Pearl Harbor, remembering the Alamo and hating all Mexicans, and hatred for the Jews. Mormons are not bad folk when you get to know them. Come on, Evangelicals, grow up!

Can Prayer Cause Lightning, Stop Bar Construction?
Texas Beer Joint Sues Church In Mt.Vernon, Texas, Drummond's Bar began construction on expansion of their building to increase their business.
In response, the local Baptist Church started a campaign to block the bar from expanding with petitions and prayers. Work progressed right up
until the week before the grand reopening when lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground! After the bar burning to the ground by a
lightning strike, the church folks were rather smug in their outlook, bragging about "the power of prayer ", until the bar owner sued the church
on the grounds that the church . . ."was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means."
In its reply to the court, the church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise.
